September: In the Beginning (from “Long, Strange Trip”)
Join us for one, many, or all sessions
Many of us have come to Unitarian Universalism from other faith traditions, or no faith tradition at all. Learning about the history and continued transformation of Unitarian Universalism can help us ground ourselves in the collective wisdom of fellow UUs past and present, trace the roots of our faith’s ever-evolving commitment to social justice, and better understand and live into the principles and values of our chosen faith tradition. In the first 6 sessions, we’ll offer shared viewings and group discussions of segments of the “Long, Strange Trip” UU film series. In the final 2 sessions, we’ll pull from contemporary sources to discuss UU today and its role in the times ahead.
Note: Families with children are welcome. We’ll be showing “Avatar: The Last Airbender” for children during these sessions in a quiet children’s corner. The acclaimed “Avatar” animated series explores themes of spirituality, resilience, and justice. We’ll also have books and drawing materials available for children.
